Three people were injured at a fire at this Green Township home early Monday.

At least three people were injured in a fire police say one of the victims started in Green Township on Monday morning.

The fire broke out in the bedroom of a home in the 6500 block of Visitation Drive at about 6:25 a.m., according to a Hamilton County dispatcher.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire about 10 minutes after arriving on scene, but emergency dispatches indicated heavy smoke throughout the house hampered the search for victims.

Crews first freed a woman who was barricaded in the bedroom where the fire began, according to emergency dispatches. They later located two other victims. They were transported to area hospitals by three different medics, although the extent of their injuries is unclear.

Everyone else in the home escaped safely.

Officials on scene think the woman they rescued from the bedroom may have started the fire, according to emergency communications.

At one point, crews lost pressure from a fire hydrant they were using. Once the fire was brought under control, they were able to identify a broken water main near the corner of Althea and Visitation drives.

Green Township fire officials remain on scene and were not immediately available for further comment.
