More luxury condos planned for Mariemont

Indian Hill developer Richard Greiwe wants to build more luxury condominiums in Mariemont, this time a block from village square.

And Greiwe – who is proposing to raze three apartment buildings on Miami Road for a three-level, 18-unit condominium building – has cleared the first public hurdle to do it.

The Mariemont Planning Commission has unanimously approved a zone change Greiwe sought for three, four-unit apartment buildings at 3814 Miami Road, 3816 Miami Road and 3818 Miami Road.

Greiwe wants them rezoned to allow multiple dwellings with more than four single-family dwellings on the property.

The proposed condominium development now goes to Mariemont Village Council, which will conduct a public hearing before it casts the final vote.

If village council votes yes, it will be the fifth luxury condominium project built by the Greiwe Development Group in Mariemont.

“This is another part of John Nolen’s plan and we’re proud to continue the vision,” Greiwe said, referring to the Cambridge, Mass., town planner who in the early 1920s helped create a blueprint for Mariemont’s development.

“We’re also continuing the lifestyle product that our clients love, in a wonderful neighborhood setting a block from the square.”

The Greiwe Development Group, in partnership with North American Properties, already opened:

•The 25-condominium Jordan Park development at the northeast corner of Miami Road and East Street in 2008.

•The 31-condominium Emery Park development at the northwest corner of Madisonville Road and West Street in 2011.

•The 27-condominion Nolen Park development at the northeast corner of Madisonville Road and West Street in 2014.

The Greiwe Development Group and North American Properties plan to open the 18-condominium Livingood Park development, under construction at the convergence of Murray Avenue and Madisonville Road, in December.

There are four condominiums left for sale.

For now, Greiwe is calling the condominium building proposed for Miami Road the “Miami Road Condos.”

Greiwe said his company hasn’t determined what the condominiums would sell for, although he said they would range in size from 1,800 square feet to 3,200 square feet.

Miami Road Condos would have an underground garage and elevator, he said.
