Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Mick Cronin readies his team for the first half of the American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game between the Southern Methodist Mustangs (1) and the Cincinnati Bearcats (2) at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., on Sunday, March 12, 2017. At halftime the Mustangs led UC 32-23.

Mamoudou Diarra, a 6'9" forward and former University of Washington commit, confirmed via Instagram (mamoudou_d11) that he intends to play basketball for Mick Cronin and the UC Bearcats.

The Enquirer's Tom Groeschen confirmed the commitment via members of UC's staff. Diarra got his release from a commitment to Washington after the Huskies dismissed head coach Lorenzo Romar in March.

Diarra visited the Bearcats on April 19, according to his Twitter account (@mamoudou_d11), which indicated that he also visited Missouri on April 27. He visited Connecticut as well, earlier in April.

Diarra is not to be confused with Mamadou Diarra, who has committed to UC's AAC rival, UConn.
