A Burlington Christmas planned for early December

BURLINGTON – The Historic Burlington Business Association and Boone County Historical Society will light up Boone County Dec. 2-4 with A Burlington Christmas.

The event’s centerpiece is the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, which starts at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the gazebo next to the Historic Courthouse.

Guests can visit with Santa Claus, enjoy hot chocolate and donuts provided by Linnemann Funeral Homes and hear live music performed by Bowman Music students. Santa arrives at 6:30 p.m.

Bring the family pets to be part of the Boone County Animal Shelter Santa Paws Parade which starts at 1 p.m. Dec. 3, at the Administration Building parking lot.

The Boone County Historical Society Museum will have a 1950s Christmas display with American Flyer train and vintage toys. It will be 6-9 p.m. Dec. 2 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3.

Boone County Public Library in Burlington will host an Antique Affair at 1-5 p.m. Dec. 4. There will be a vintage book sale, book art demos, cookies, cocoa, live music and DIY crafts.

Cabin Arts will host a 25th Anniversary Celebration On Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dinsmore Homestead will host tours, have music, refreshments and a holiday gift shop on Dec. 3 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and candlelit tours from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Dec. 4 from noon to 5 p.m.

Eagle Bend Gift Shoppe will show off live alpacas, refreshments, unique gifts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 2-3.

Kinman Farms will open the gift barn, petting zoo and holiday display from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 2-4.

Washington Square Cafe will host cookie decorating with hot chocolate from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 3.
