Who Won Ohio

And welcome back to Who Won Ohio This Week, the game show where we weigh how well presidential candidate are wooing the Buckeye State!

This is a tongue-in-cheek look at the week that was in the presidential race. So please, audience members, keep your sense of humor intact and enjoy the show.

Our contestants, as always: Republican Donald Trump, Democrat Hillary Clinton, Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Partier Jill Stein.

Without further ado, Hillary Clinton, come on down! You've won Ohio -- something of a miracle because you didn't set foot here all week. How is that debate prep going, by the way? This was a relatively quiet week on the trail for all candidates.

Secretary Clinton, Congratulations! You won largely due to Trump losing game after game in Ohio this week.

Trump got the week started off right for you by losing The Unifier Challenge, the popular game in which a contestant is measured by how well he or she hugs a hater. Sadly for Trump, GOP Chairman Reince Priebus and Ohio Gov. John Kasich tussled early in the week over Kasich's ongoing refusal to endorse Trump and what it could mean for the governor's future presidential aspirations.

Then, Trump visited Cleveland and repeatedly failed The 'Just Don't 'Game, the fun challenge a contestant can win by just not doing things.

Trump's mistakes this week are good examples of how to lose this game. To wit: Just Don't have convicted murderer, boxing promoter and supporter Don King introduce you; But if you do, Just Don't be surprised when King drops the N-word; But when he does, Just Don't keep smirking behind him.

When you're asked by a Cleveland TV journalist to explain why you finally admitted that President Barack Obama was born in the U.S., Just Don't say you finally made your announcement just because you want to talk about other things.

And he lost the game we call Best FriendsForever. Trump's Ohio campaign had to replace its Mahoning County volunteer chairwoman after she said there was "no racism" before Obama waselected, and other cringe-y things. The campaign replaced her with Tracy Winbush, an African-American who had previously criticized Trump on Twitter. The same day, Winbush scrubbed her Twitter account of past tweets and tweeted that she had just joined Twitter, an obvious falsehood.

I'm sure this is all making you feel swell, Contestant Clinton. You even won The Enquirer editorial board's endorsement on Friday, the first Democrat it has endorsed since 1916 when it gave the nod to Woodrow Wilson.

But don't get too cocky. Despite all of the above, Trump did win The Poll Game – slightly strengthening his lead over you in Ohio to 1.8 points, according to a Friday review of Real Time Politics' average of recent polling.

Trump may have lost the week, but there's still time in this game for him to come back.

And no matter what happens, I bet Trump will get an invitation to our likely spin-off show, Who Won Ohio - Celebrity Edition. I wish I could say the same for Johnson and Stein.

Thanks for playing contestants. And audience members, join us next week for Who Won Ohio!
