Since Jerry Springer has taken the low road with his syndicated television show, a letter writer finds it funny when he criticizes the Republican presidential candidates.

PHILADELPHIA – Jerry Springer is scheduled to join Cincinnati.com for a Facebook Live interview at 7 p.m. tonight from the Democratic National Convention.

Watch City Hall reporter Sharon Coolidge's interview with the former Cincinnati mayor on The Enquirer's Facebook page or here on Cincinnati.com.

Springer is in his 25th season hosting the syndicated tabloid television talk show The Jerry Springer Show.

Some Cincinnatians might remember Springer for a different tabloid-like issue – the prostitute-patronizing scandal in the mid-1970s when he was a City Councilman.

Springer has remained involved in Greater Cincinnati politics through the years. He flies into town each week to record a political podcast in Northern Kentucky, and the former Channel 5 anchor has supported local candidates. In fact, Springer is scheduled to be in Cincinnati on Aug. 2 for a campaign event to support Democratic Hamilton County Juvenile Court Judge candidate Darrell Payne.

Springer spent some time with Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and other Ohio delegates at the state delegation's hotel on Sunday.

Enquirer local politics reporter Jason Williams also will live tweet Springer's interview tonight @jwilliamscincy on Twitter.
