Glendale Restaurant Week is June 26 to July 1 with proceeds benefiting the Glendale Police Department's 2017 Back-to-School Drive.

Just in time for the back-to-school push, Ohio residents will be able to purchase school supplies and other items sales tax-free.

Thanks to Senate Bill 264, which designates the first weekend in August as a sales-tax holiday for back-to-school purchases, clothing items up to $75 each, and school supplies and instructional materials up to $20 each will be free of state and county taxes when purchased from Aug. 5 to Aug. 7. Other items include pencils, paper, pants and jackets, according to a news release.

"I am excited to see the sales tax holiday continue this year," State Rep. Jonathan Dever (R-Madeira) said in the release. "This tax-free weekend allows families to save more of their hard-earned money and purchase needed supplies and clothing to ensure their children can be successful in the classroom."

Last year's so-called sales-tax holiday saw $4.7 million spent, with $3.3 million in savings for consumers, according to a study by the University of Cincinnati.
