Fiona the hippo gets asked out on a date. Turns out, she might be interested.

Fiona, nearly one, comes up close to the window at Hippo Cove at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.

America's sweetheart could get a sweetheart of her own.

Timothy the hippo swiped right on our dear Fiona.

The two-year-old hippopotamus from the San Antonio Zoo "posted" a public declaration of love to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden's celebrity hippo.

And he laid on the charm in the Facebook post shared Thursday night.

Timothy said he'd checked out Fiona's pictures and videos, and he thinks the one-year-old "is the most beautiful hippopotamus I have ever seen."

"Perhaps we can meet someday and be boyfriend and girlfriend?"

More:It's Fiona the hippo's birthday. She's already had a remarkable life.

But is he good enough bae for our beloved Fiona?

Timothy is a 1,200-pound, two-year-old hippo. So, he's a bit older and a bit bigger than our one-year-old Fiona. But just by a bit.

However, this number difference is huge: They would be 1,200 miles apart. Long-distance relationships can be rough.

Timothy recently moved from ABQ BioPark Zoo in New Mexico to live with his grandmother, Uma, at the San Antonio Zoo.

Oh, so that must mean he's close to his family? That's a major plus.

Here's another: Timothy is part of a celebrity hippo family.

His grandfather, Tumbo, was a cover model for National Geographic. Timothy might be able to understand the pressures of Fiona's fame.

Fiona played it cool for almost a day. Good move, Fi.

But folks from the Cincinnati Zoo let Timothy know Friday that she thinks he's cute, too.

So, she did swipe right!

However, it's what inside that really counts.
