"Honestly, we've been shocked with the amount of positive feedback from Pleasant Ridge," said Kathy O'Connell of Revolution Rotisserie, the Over-the-Rhine restaurant that is opening a second location at the corner of Losantiville Avenue and Montgomery Road. "It's been fun to watch how excited people are about it."

They have now settled on an opening date of January 19.

For their second location, Revolution Rotisserie is taking over the space that had been Emanu African restaurant. They'll serve, as they do in Over-the-Rhine, American comfort food, to eat in or to go, along with a full bar.

O'Connell is co-owner of Revolution with its founder, Nicholas Pesola. The two met through the business, and are planning a wedding this summer. He started the roasted-chicken pita sandwich concept as a stand at Findlay Market in 2014, with very little experience in the business.

"I guess I had a sort of millennial attitude about it, thinking I was ready to start a business when I really wasn't ready, " he said. "Fortunately, I'm stubborn and was very pro-active about asking people for help. I've found the restaurant community in Cincinnati to really be a family."

He and O'Connell grew the concept from roasted chicken pitas (They call them chitas) to a full American menu that includes chicken meals, salads, poutine, pork tenderloin sandwich. They recently added a burger, a short-rib pot roast and a vegetarian falafel sandwich. The Hoosier pork tenderloin sandwich is back on the menu.

They also serve a brunch on Sunday, with dishes like shrimp and grits, rotisserie chicken and waffles, and biscuits and gravy.

Their bar is known for its mules, and in Pleasant Ridge, they'll have their house-made Moscow mule on tap, along with 12 draft beers.

The restaurant will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday,  10 a.m.-3 p.m. for brunch and the regular menu until 9 p.m.
