Congratulations Cincinnatians, you live in one of the best places in the country.

While Cincinnati placed low, 91 of 100, Livability.com said it outpaces more than 2,100 cities that didn't make the cut for the Top 100 Best Places to Live list for 2018.

“The 2018 Best Place to Live list includes a fascinating mix of familiar cities and first-timers that are starting to carve out a reputation as wonderful places to live,” Livability.com’s managing editor Winona Dimeo-Ediger said in a statement. “It’s great to see these under-the-radar cities getting more attention on a national scale — and the accolades are certainly well-deserved.”

Bloomington, Pittsburgh, Lexington and Oxford also made the list.

Cities were ranked based on scores in amenities, demographics, education, economy, health care, housing, social and civic capital and transportation and infrastructure.

Here's why Livibility.com liked Cincinnati - Jerry Springer, Taste of Cincinnati, major companies like Kroger, Macy’s and Procter & Gamble and historic architecture.

Livability also cited a cost of living nearly 10 percent below the national average.

"The education sector ranks high due in large part to the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University, and the city houses professional sports franchises like the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals," Livability said.

  • Corvallis, Oregon
