Mercy McAuley unveiled its school colors and logo Friday at a joint pep rally between Mother of Mercy and McAuley High Schools. The two schools will combine and form the new Mercy McAuley High School which will open its doors in August, 2018.

McAuley High School and Mother of Mercy High School are celebrating their final year as individual institutions. The two schools will combine next year to form the new Mercy McAuley High School. Friday the two student bodies celebrated that future together.

At a joint pep rally the new school’s colors, mascot and logo were revealed. Rather than going for some combination of Mercy’s blue and white or McAuley’s gold and burnt sienna the new school’s colors will be orange, white and gray – with orange being the primary color. The school’s new mascot is a wolf.

The school also released its tagline: Opening Hearts. Opening Minds. Opening Doors.

“We are confident that the brand effectively reflects the Mercy Charism and represents who we are, who we serve, and how we are different from other schools. We believe these branding elements will position Mercy McAuley for success for many years to come,” Tom Otten, Chair of the Mercy McAuley Transition Committee, said in a press release. “We are grateful to Jackie Roberto and her team of branding experts at Madison Design for leading us through a very thorough and systematic approach to Mercy McAuley’s brand development, and we thank the many individuals who provided valuable input and feedback throughout the process.”

The new all-girl Catholic High School will open in August at McAuley High School’s current location – 6000 Oakwood Avenue in College Hill.
