The weather Valentine's Day weekend will be as cold as your ex's heart as an Arctic front moves into the Greater Cincinnati area, bringing single-digit temperatures and snow.

A winter weather advisory for snow will go into effect noon Sunday until Monday at 10 a.m. The National Weather Service forecast said the Greater Cincinnati area could see between 2 to 3 inches of snow accumulation by Sunday night.

Parts of Indiana, Northern Kentucky, and central and southwest Ohio are under a hazardous weather outlook because of the bitter cold and snow until Wednesday. The freezing temperatures, reinforced with the Arctic cold front moving in Friday night, will persist through the weekend with wind chills ranging from zero to minus-15 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Despite sunny weather Saturday, temperatures are only set to reach 18 degrees before dropping to a bitter 4 degrees at night. According to the weather service, wind chill values will drop as low as minus-3 degrees.

Although Sunday is set to be slightly warmer, with a high of 24 degrees and low of 21 degrees, the region is likely to see snow in the afternoon and evening with up to three inches of accumulation possible.

Travel difficulties are expected because of the snow and reduced visibility.

A low pressure system moving through the area Monday is likely to bring up to a half inch of snow before 1 p.m., according to the weather service. Monday is forecast to be cloudy with a high near 38 degrees and a low of 29 degrees.

The chance of snow continues overnight Monday and throughout Tuesday. There is a chance of snow before 1 p.m. and then a rain-snow mixture in the afternoon and night, according to the weather service. Temperatures Tuesday will reach a high near 40 degrees and low around 27 degrees.
