Update, 5:45 a.m.: After capturing the attention of the nation (on Twitter anyway), the saga of Andy Dalton's missing luggage has come to a fruitful close.

The Bengals quarterback was reunited with his two missing bags Wednesday evening, according to a tweet and an Instagram post.

For most of Wednesday, #bagsearch2016 awareness spread through the social media landscape as Dalton issued pleas for assistance.

Earlier reporting: Truck cap manufacturers might consider an endorsement deal for Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton after he tweeted about losing his luggage from the bed of his truck.

According to Dalton, two suitcases fell from his vehicle while traveling to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Wednesday morning.

While many offered assistance, the reaction on Twitter was the predictable schadenfreude.

It did not take long for Dalton's missing luggage to trend in Cincinnati.
