Photos imagine a sunny California vacation
Milford resident Alan Lloyd will bring sunny California to the Midwest with a photo presentation titled “Just Imagine.” From the Tournament of Roses Parade to the Reagan Library, Lloyd has captured unique sites from the Pacific Coast.
He’s one of seven photographers from the Photography Club of Greater Cincinnati who will present photo collections in the annual Travel Series at Sharon Woods each Friday through April 29.
Each artist was asked to describe his presentation and the inspiration for his photos.
Describe your presentation
“The title of my presentation is “Just Imagine.” We will imagine that we are on a vacation in sunny California. We will visit many popular tourist attractions. For example, we will visit San Francisco and ride on the unique cable cars. We then will travel along The Pacific Coast Highway where the beautiful coastline provides a scenic route to numerous attractions along the coast. In Hollywood we will stand in awe on the exact spot where famous movie stars received their coveted Academy Award.”
What was the highlight of your trip?
“We will end with the highlight of our vacation, the Tournament of Roses, Rose Parade, and amaze at the floral beauty and artistry of the renowned parade.”
What’s your advice to travelers?
“Most Americans have spent time in California. I hope my audience will renew their memories through my pictures. And, if you have not yet visited, just imagine, you may be inspired to plan a visit to California.”
The programs are held at the Sharon Centre auditorium at Sharon Woods, 11450 Lebanon Road, at 7:30 p.m. They are free and open to the public, but require a Great Parks motor vehicle permit. The permits, $10 annually or $3 daily, can be bought at the park.
