A 12-year-old Mount Healthy Junior High School student is facing charges after, police said, he brought a fake gun to school and threatened to shoot others Wednesday.

Mount Healthy police responded to the Achieve Program of the school, located at 7712 Joseph St, after school officials reported the student brought a gun to school on Wednesday. He was found with a toy weapon and a cup of wine, which he drank from while in school, police said.

On Tuesday, the student allegedly pointed the toy gun at different students after school and said "I am going to shoot you," to one of them.

The boy was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with two counts of aggravated menacing, two counts of illegal possession of an object indistinguishable from a firearm in a school safety zone, and one count of consuming intoxicating liquor.

A student at Wyoming High School was also arrested yesterday for making threats against students. Wyoming police plan to have an increased presence at the school for the remainder of the week to assuage parent and student fears in wake of the Madison school shooting reported Monday. Two students were shot, and two others injured, when a student at the Madison Local School District opened fire during lunch.
