MILWAUKEE — Catcher Devin Mesoraco, who hasn't played since April 12, is "home for family reasons," Reds manager Bryan Price said on Monday.

Mesoraco has been dealing with a left hip impingement since last weekend. Mesoraco missed the team's three games in Chicago to be examined in Cincinnati by Reds medical director Timothy Kremchek and undergo physical therapy before rejoining the team in St. Louis on Friday.

Mesoraco didn't appear in either of the first two games of the series, but left the team before Sunday's 2-1 loss.

Price said he expected Mesoraco to return to the team on Tuesday in Milwaukee. Price has said that Mesoraco has been able to hit and run, but not resume catching.

If Mesoraco were to go on the disabled list, he'd be eligible to return on April 28.
