A police chase that started on the highway in Warren County ended with a crash and a person in custody near Norwood on Thursday morning.

Aaron Teofilo, 19, of Alabama, was charged with fleeing and eluding, carrying a concealed weapon, reckless operation and other charges, according to officials.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tried to stop Teofilo near Mason, close to Kings Island, on southbound Interstate 71 before 9 a.m., a patrol dispatcher said.

Teofilo was allegedly driving above the speed limit, changing lanes without signaling and didn't have a rear license plate, the dispatcher said.

A loaded firearm was located in the vehicle and ownership of the vehicle is still under investigation, according to police.

After leading troopers down the highway for almost 15 miles, Teofilo hit a guardrail and came to rest in the high-speed lane near the Dana Avenue exit of southbound I-71., police said
