After evading authorities for more than 17 miles, a police chase in Clermont County ended just after midnight Friday with the arrest of an allegedly drunken driver.

Michael Ferguson, 40, of Erlanger, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to comply with an officer and two marked lanes and divided roadways violations.

Officials said that the pursuit began on State Route 32 near mile post 4 when Ferguson failed to stop after police attempted to pull over a Suzuki Samurai for a traffic violation.

Ferguson then allegedly led police on a chase that lasted 19 minutes and spanned 17 miles through Union Township.

Ferguson was booked in the Clermont County Jail under a $4,200 bond Friday morning.
