A teenager was shot after leaving school in College Hill Thursday.

A 15 year old was shot after leaving school in College Hill Thursday, police said.

The shooter allegedly yelled, "What are you going to do about it now?" before firing at the victim, said Lt. Lisa Davis, acting public information officer for the Cincinnati Police Department.

The two know each other and attend the same school, Davis said.

"They've apparently been having some issues for a while now," she said.

"The victim was hanging out with a group of kids his parents didn't want him to. He was trying to sever ties and it wasn't going so well."

The victim walked out of a Family Dollar store at 5832 Hamilton Ave. after school when the 14-year-old suspect approached and shot the victim in the groin, Davis said.

The boy was transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and was listed in "fair" condition Thursday evening, Davis said.

Police tracked the suspect near the intersection of Marlow and Hamilton avenues but had not arrested him as of 8:30 p.m., a Cincinnati Police District 5 dispatcher said.
