Dylan Shelton and Carol Brammer star in "The Monkey's Paw" at the New York International Fringe Festival Aug. 12-17.

Two Cincinnati actors are headed to New York this week to be part of the New York International Fringe Festival.

Carol Brammer and Dylan Shelton will appear in Kevin Crowley's "The Monkey's Paw" Aug. 12-17.

Crowley starred in the version performed at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival in 2007. The show also was performed at the American New Voices Festival at Greenwich Theater in London in 2008.

Crowley directs the New York version; Mindy Heithaus produces.

From the play's description: "'The Monkey's Paw' shares undertones with a 1902 ghost story. Mike, a new father, is terrified and jealous of his son. Encouraged by his wife, Mike and son go camping to bond. Only one returns. A dark comedy exposing parenting on a different level."

Brammer and Shelton will perform five shows. New York's Fringe features 1,200 performances over 16 days.

The artists are affiliated with the Clifton Performance Theatre.

Crowley's "Sarge," starring Christine Dye, won the Critics' Pick of the Cincy Fringe in June.
