A woman was killed early Saturday in a crash resulting from a police chase, officials say.

The driver who fatally struck a woman early Sunday while fleeing from police has not had a valid drivers license since 2006, records show.

An Arlington Heights officer tried to stop David Hill, 26, at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, according to a release from the Cincinnati Police Traffic Unit. Hill, who was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry south on Reading, refused to stop.

Arlington Heights Police Chief Kristen Heimpold said warrants were out for Hill's arrest.

Hill ran a red light near Reading Road and Seymour Avenue and fatally struck 40-year-old Janice Jewett, who was traveling south on Seymour, according to the release.

Hill was driving 70 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to the incident report. Jewett was traveling 30 mph.

Jewett's blue 2001 Ford Focus overturned. She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected, according to the release. Jewett, from Lebanon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hill was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries. He was also not wearing his seat belt.

Hill will be taken to the Hamilton County Detention Center under suspicion of aggravated vehicular homicide when he is released from the hospital, according to court documents.

During the time of the accident, Hill's license was suspended. In fact, Hill's license has been suspended since 2006 due to a series of offenses, according to his driving record.

He first lost his license in 2006 in a noncompliance suspension, which occurs when the driver fails to provide proof of insurance at the time of a crash or traffic violation, according to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Hill would go on to receive five more noncompliance suspensions before 2009, according to his driving record. Other suspensions stemmed from violations such as operating a vehicle while intoxicated and causing damage or injuries during an accident.

The Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
