Two men face felony drug charges after officials say they were making methamphetamine inside their car Sunday.

Charles Ross, 26, of Crittenden, Kentucky, and Ryan Dawson, 30, of Covington, are each facing a felony drug manufacturing charge.

The men were arrested Sunday night after a Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy pulled over their Hyundai Elantra in Anderson Township at about 10:15 p.m. The car had one functioning headlight, according to court documents.

The deputy saw someone throw a bottle from inside the car, the documents say. That bottle contained chemicals used for a "single pot" meth lab, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Ross and Dawson were driving from Seaman, Ohio, court documents say, and the deputy initially saw the car on Beechmont Avenue. The traffic stop happened in the 1100 block of Asbury Road. Officers with The Regional Narcotics Unit responded to the scene and handled the potentially dangerous substance, the news release said.

The men face up to three years in prison.

They are each being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on a $100,000 bond while they await trial.
