Northern Kentucky Regional Track Meets

Celia Eltzroth and the St Henry track team will attempt to defend their Class A, Region 4 title next week.

Here's a look at the upcoming Northern Kentucky track meets.

STATE QUALIFIERS: The top two competitors in each event at each region meet automatically qualify for the state meet, while the next 10 best times/heights/marks from the state-at-large also qualify.

SCORING: Six places count in each event with values of 10-8-6-4-2-1. The champion of each regional meet will be the team compiling the highest number of points.

CLASS 3A, REGION 5

WHEN/WHERE: 10 a.m. Saturday at Dixie Heights High School.

SCHOOLS: Boone County, Campbell County, Conner, Cooper, Dixie Heights, Grant County, Notre Dame, Ryle, Simon Kenton

DEFENDING TEAM CHAMPIONS: Girls – Notre Dame; Boys – Ryle.

CLASS 2A, REGION 4

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday at Harrison County Athletic Complex (3:30 p.m. field events start; 4 p.m. track events start).

SCHOOLS: Bourbon County, Covington Catholic, Franklin County, Harrison County, Highlands, Holmes, Lexington Catholic, Pendleton County, Scott, Western Hills.

DEFENDING TEAM CHAMPIONS: Girls – Lexington Catholic; Boys – Lexington Catholic.

CLASS A, REGION 4

WHEN/WHERE: 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 at Walton-Verona Athletic Complex (pole vault will be 4:30 p.m. May 13 at St. Henry High School).

SCHOOLS: Beechwood, Bellevue, Bishop Brossart, Calvary Christian, Covington Latin, Dayton, Heritage, Holy Cross, Lloyd, Ludlow Newport, Newport Central Catholic, Silver Grove, St. Henry, Villa Madonna, Walton-Verona, Williamstown.

DEFENDING TEAM CHAMPIONS: Girls – St. Henry; Boys – St. Henry.

CLASS A, REGION 5

WHEN/WHERE: 3 p.m. Saturday at Danville High School.

SCHOOLS: Augusta, Bracken County, Burgin, Carroll County, Danville, Eminence, Frankfort, Gallatin County, Kentucky School f/t Deaf, Lexington Christian, Nicholas County, Owen County, Paris, Robertson County, Sayre, St. Patrick, Trimble County.
