World of Beer, a chain of craft beer taverns with 57 locations in 17 states, is expanding to the Cincinnati area.

A spokesperson for the company said that an opening is scheduled for late in the fourth quarter of this year, but other details, including the location, have not yet been released.

World of Beer (WOB) was founded in 2007 in Tampa by Scott Zepp and Matt LaFon, best friends who loved craft beer, and expanded from there. Tavern locations now include three in Ohio: in the Brewery District and at Easton in Columbus, and in Lakewood, near Cleveland.

Each WOB location carries more than 500 beers in bottles and cans, plus 40 to 50 brews on tap. Staff members, trained at a two-week beer school, are on-hand to help customers navigate the menu.

In addition to beer, World of Beer has craft spirits, handcrafted cocktails and a "Tavern Fare" menu of classic comfort foods and traditional bar offerings with a contemporary spin.

Taverns offer live music, and sports are shown on TVs.

A Loyalty Club Program lets customers earn points by trying different beers. Points can be redeemed for rewards that include gift cards, T-shirts, mugs and parties. An app lets users track their points.

The program is available to all customers and is easily accessible through the Industry Leading WOB app (available for iPhone and Android smartphones).
