A grandmother and her 4-month-old grandson were hospitalized Saturday evening after nearly drowning in Whitewater Township.

The infant was in critical condition Saturday night.

Hamilton County officials originally responded to reports of a woman and a child who were found unresponsive in a bathtub in a home in the 5100 block of OH-128 in Cleves early Saturday evening, according to Hamilton County officials.

A man in the home placed a 911 call around 5:30 p.m.

"I can't wake my wife up," the caller told a 911 dispatcher. "I think she fell in the tub. I think she fell. I don't know what's wrong with her."

A Hamilton County dispatcher spoke with the man for about 8 minutes, talking the man and another woman through CPR on the infant.

Near the end of the 8-minute 911 call, paramedics arrived at the scene and began CPR. The caller said the child eventually became responsive.

No further information was available Saturday night.
