Two days to go.

The University of Cincinnati campus is buzzing about the reopening of Nippert Stadium, which has undergone an $86 million renovation and expansion from 35,000 to 40,000 seats. The Bearcats return to Nippert on Saturday (7 p.m.) with their season football opener against Alabama A&M, and most tickets are gone.

Tommy Tuberville is ready to lead UC back into Nippert Stadium for the first time since 2013.

"We have under 1,000 left," UC athletic director Mike Bohn said Thursday afternoon.

The Bearcats last played in Nippert on Dec. 5, 2013, a 31-24 overtime loss to Louisville. The stadium closed shortly thereafter for renovations, and UC played its 2014 home games at the Bengals' Paul Brown Stadium.

"We can't wait to get back into Nippert," UC coach Tommy Tuberville said. "It looks great. It should be a real home field advantage for us."
