Ross' no-hitter wins softball sectional

Ross senior pitcher Katie Carroll threw a no-hitter Tuesday for a 10-0 softball win over Indian Hill in a Division II sectional final at Deer Park.

With her team up 9-0 in the fifth inning, Ally Ivey hit a walk-off solo home run – her first of the season.

Carroll (18-7) has three shutouts this season and three career postseason shutouts.

Ross will face Franklin on Saturday in a district semifinal at Mason.

Bethel-Tate 8, Finneytown 7, Division III sectional final: Bethel-Tate won at Lebanon behind a complete-game pitching performance by junior Cassidy Devore.

Bethel-Tate continues its postseason run Saturday against Waynesville.

Western Brown 6, Milford 0, Division I sectional: The No. 8-seeded Broncos upset No. 3 Milford. Starting pitcher Morgan Nickell allowed only five hits and struck out 14 batters.

Hope Jamison hit a two-run home run in the second inning to spark the Western Brown offense. Jamison finished 2-for-4.

Western Brown will face Clayton Northmont on Friday at Fairfield.

Mason 10, Seton 0 (five innings), Division I sectional final: Mason, No. 1 in the Enquirer Division I area coaches' poll, was led by senior pitcher Tory Stewart, who totaled 10 strikeouts to improve to 17-3. Freshman Erin Rockstroh went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Baseball

Oak Hills 10, Fenwick 0 (five innings): Senior shortstop Ben Laumann went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, while junior second baseman Jared Drewes knocked in three runs and senior outfielder Jake Collinsworth went 3-for-4 with a double to lead Oak Hills.

Sophomore pitcher Michael Hubert got the win as the Highlanders, No. 9 in The Enquirer Division I coaches' poll, improved to 17-12. Fenwick, No. 3 in The Enquirer Division II-IV coaches' poll, fell to 21-7.

Springboro 5, Beavercreek 4: Senior right fielder Jeff Zukowitz went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the win. Senior shortstop Daniel Olson went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
