Ohio Mr. Basketball Kennard to announce college choice

Franklin junior guard Luke Kennard – who was named Associated Press Ohio Mr. Basketball last week – will announce his college decision at 7:45 p.m. Monday at Franklin High School.

Kennard, who also won the Gatorade Ohio Boys Basketball Player of the Year Award on March 21, will announce his verbal commitment from finalists that include (no particular order) Ohio State, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, Duke and Florida, according to Franklin coach Brian Bales.

Kennard averaged 40 points, 10.4 rebounds, four assists and two steals this past season. Kennard, one of the nation's top recruits in the 2015 class, has 1,910 career points. He scored 920 points in 23 games this past season, Bales said.

Kennard, a five-star recruit by Scout.com, is ranked the nation's No. 3 shooting guard in the 2015 class by Scout.com.
