Checkpoint to catch impaired drivers on Friday

Friday night's checkpoint will be in an area that has a track record for OVI-related crashes and arrests.

The checkpoint will be in the 100 block of East McMillan Street 9 p.m Friday through 1 a.m. Saturday in Corryville near the University of Cincinnati, according to the Hamilton County OVI Task Force.

There have been 50 OVI-related crashes in the area since May 2014 with 105 drivers arrested for driving impaired, according to the task force.

Motorists will also see more officers in the surrounding area searching for impaired drivers.
