Batter Up Bash to kick off All-Star Week celebrations

Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks will be featured at the Batter Up Bash on July 10 at Fountain Square.

Families can kick off All-Star Week celebrations with the Batter Up Bash July 10 on Fountain Square.

The free party will run from 5:30-11 p.m. and feature jugglers and street performers, baseball-themed giveaways, music from disc jockey Apryl Reign, live music from Midpoint Indie Summer bands, and performers from DanceFix. The full schedule:

• 5:30 p.m.: Music and performers from Circus Mojo begins.

• 7 p.m.: Singer-songwriter Jane Decker

• 8 p.m.: The Grenades

• 9 p.m. The Modern Novas

• 10 p.m.: Saint Motel

At 6:30 p.m., 10 All-Star neighborhoods, chosen by the Community Organizing Committee, will be honored by Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and Cincinnati Reds Chief Executive Officer Bob Castellini.

A mustache contest will begin with registration at 7 p.m. Garey "Mr. Mustache" Faulkner will choose the best old-fashioned mustache at 7:45 p.m.

At sunset, vintage baseball players will rappel down the side of the 525 Vine Building, and Rozzi's Famous Fireworks will cap off the night.

The bash is presented by the Thomas J. Emery Memorial, the Community Organizing Committee Hospitality and Events Committee, 3CDC, and Downtown Cincinnati Inc.
