Locals advance to state from D3 District wrestling

Reading finished seventh overall at Saturday’s Division III District wrestling tournament at Troy. Blanchester finished eighth. Dayton Christian dominated the day with 212.5 overall points.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the State tournament, with preliminaries beginning Thursday.

Bethel-Tate’s Aric Peters finished second at 120. Reading’s Ray Day came in second at 160.

Reading’s Mike McKinney came in fourth place at 220. Blanchester’s Kyle Denier came in fourth at 106, while his teammate, Brandon Breezley finished third at 170. Deer Park’s Austin Siemon came in third at 152, and his teammate, Kamran Alexander finished fourth at 160.
