A 53-foot-long semi truck lodged itself underneath the 10 foot, 6 inch metal arched sign into the Horseshoe Casino garage on Reading Road in its attempt to turn around Sunday evening.

A semi tractor trailer became stuck Sunday afternoon after the driver attempted to turn around using the valet entrance at the Horseshoe Casino.

The incident didn't have any serious effect on casino operations, said Gayane Makaryan, casino spokeswoman. "It was just an unfortunate mistake."

The large metal sign, labeled with a clearance height of 10 feet, 6 inches, was torn completely out of the concrete supports on one side.

One northbound lane of Reading Road is blocked, but traffic can pass the casino in both directions.

Horseshoe Casino facility workers and the Cincinnati Police Department began working to free the semi before 5 p.m. Their efforts seemed to be focused on disconnecting the trailer from the cab of the semi.

At 6 p.m., the semi remained trapped.

It's unclear if the driver will face any charges or fines in connection with the accident.
