Woman accused of heroin use while babysitting

A grandmother, who was found unconscious with her infant grandson in a bathtub, is accused of using heroin while caring for the child at a home in Whitewater Township.

Deputies arrested Kathy Huff, 42, after she was treated at a local hospital, according to a release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The infant is in critical condition at Cincinnati Children's Medical Center.

Authorities were dispatched to a home in the 5100 block of State Route 128 in Whitewater Township for a possible drowning around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Infant grandson critical after near drowning

A deputy found Huff in the bathtub and the infant nearby not breathing, the release states.

Whitewater Township emergency responders started life-saving measures on the infant and administered Naloxone to Huff.

Huff admitted to using heroin while watching her grandson, according to the release.

She is accused of felony child endangering.
