A GoFundMe campaign created to honor slain Cincinnati police officer Sonny Kim concluded on Monday after nearly six weeks.

Nearly $205,000 was turned over to his family, according to the campaign website.

The crowdfunding campaign netted $204,677 for the family of Kim, who on June 19 was fatally shot in Madisonville by 21-year-old Trepierre Hummons.

Kim is survived by a wife and three sons, and they received the GoFundMe money on Monday, according to an update on the campaign website.

"Just a quick note to let everyone know that the money has been turned over to the Kim family. We've raised $204,677 which will go a long way toward securing the future of the Kim boys. Thank you everyone!" the update stated.

The campaign was organized by Derek Bauman, president of the Mason Police Association.

More than 3,000 donations were made, according to the website. The crowdfunding campaign soared to more than $175,000 in donations just a week after its June 19 launch.

It's unclear how much, if any, overhead cost was incurred with the use of GoFundMe.com. Typically, 5 percent of each donation is automatically deducted, according to the website.
