Bevin mocked in 'vagina' social media storm

The Courier-Journal

Kentucky women took to Twitter on Friday to call attention to abortion in Kentucky.

Then-gubernatorial candidate Matt Bevin speaks to a crowd of volunteers in Campbell County on Oct. 3 as U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie looks on.

The hashtag #AskBevinAboutMyVag was trending in Louisville on Friday afternoon, where women and some men tweeted their thoughts on Republican Gov. Matt Bevin signing into law a bill that requires a woman to meet with her doctor in-person or via video 24 hours prior to an abortion.

And on Thursday, a Senate committee approved a bill requiring doctors to perform an ultrasound and describe the image to women seeking an abortion.

The first tweet was sent out Thursday by Molly Shah.

Since then, hundreds of tweets have been pouring in from women asking Bevin for "advice" about their reproductive health.

The Bevin administration declined to comment.
