Two Cincinnati Bearcats were drafted by the National Football League on Saturday. Several other former UC players have agreed to either free-agent deals or rookie tryouts with NFL teams, UC football communications director Ryan Koslen said Saturday night.

UC career receptions leader Shaq Washington will get a tryout with the San Diego Chargers.

Wide receiver Mekale McKay (Indianapolis) and wide receiver Johnny Holton (Oakland) signed free-agent deals.

UC career receptions leader Shaq Washington, also a wide receiver, will have a rookie mini-camp tryout with San Diego. The 5-foot-8 Washington had 240 career catches.

Washington tweeted: "Always had to use backdoor in my life, so this ain't nothing new! From the city of the grey skies finally get to see the SUNSHINE. #SD"

Others landing rookie mini-camp tryouts were defensive end Silverberry Mouhon (Bengals), safety Leviticus Payne (Indianapolis), offensive lineman Chad West (Seattle) and long snapper Kirk Willis (invitations from both Cleveland, Jacksonville).

Former UC offensive lineman Parker Ehinger (Kansas City) and wide receiver Chris Moore (Baltimore) both were chosen in the fourth round of the draft.
