A string of armed robberies appears to be continuing in Northern Kentucky with another service station hit in a different community, Florence.

Florence police responded to a robbery call at 3:41 p.m. Thursday at the BP at 7230 Turfway Road.

A man entered the store with a T-shirt covering his face, police said. Armed with a black handgun, he demanded cash from the clerk, then ran from the store and took off in a vehicle. Police did not have a description of the vehicle.

Capt. Tom Grau said police believe the suspect is the same man who robbed at least five other businesses in Northern Kentucky in a week’s time, beginning July 23.

Erlanger police and other departments are asking the public for help in identifying the “serial robber” – a man in his 20s to 30s, who committed the robberies in several communities along the Interstate 71/75 corridor.

The other robberies have occurred at a BP in Fort Wright, a Skyline Chili in Crescent Springs, an AmeriStop in Covington, a Racers in Erlanger and a Shell in Fort Mitchell.

Erlanger Detective Tom Loos said agencies are working together on their cases.

Grau asked that anyone with information about the BP robbery on Turfway call Florence police at 859-647-5420, but those who know about any of the robberies also are encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
