MidPoint Music Festival, the annual fall showcase of new and pioneering music, has released its full schedule.

New additions to the line-up for the event, set for Sept. 25-27, are Tristen, The Moth & The Flame, Alberta Cross, The Besnard Lakes, Heaters, Buffalo Killers, Cole DeGenova, Culture Queer, The Glazzies, Left & Right, Mad Anthony and Bulletville. They join previously announced acts that include Purity Ring, Heartless Bastards, Ride, Sylvan Esso, Iron & Wine and Tune-Yards.

“People crave to discover that band that’s about to break out," Dan Bockrath, festival producer, said in a news release. "We’re presenting a great cross section of what’s new today."

Approximately 120 acts in total will perform at Over-the-Rhine and Downtown venues. Among them will be three new venues this year: the Woodward Theater, Maudie’s and an all-ages outdoor stage at the Lightborne Lot, 14th and Sycamore streets.

Other venues are: Arnold's Bar & Grill, Christian Moerlein Brewery (all ages), MOTR Pub presented by MUSICLi, Mr. Pitiful’s, Taft Ballroom (all ages), The Drinkery, Washington Park (all ages) and the Woodward Theater.

Missing this year is the Midway, the outdoor stage and festival "hub" at 12th and Vine streets. That area couldn't be used this year because of work on the streetcar, organizers said.

Founded in 2002, the festival changed days this year. It moved from its previous Thursday through Saturday format to a Friday through Sunday one, which allows for more daytime programming at venues such as Washington Park. It also makes it easier for fans traveling from other cities, organizers said.
