Samuel DuBose's last words were "I didn't even do nothing."

A video from University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing's body camera of DuBose's fatal shooting reviewed by The Enquirer indicates DuBose was shot to death by Tensing following a calm exchange during a Mount Auburn traffic stop July 19.

There is no violence or physical altercation shown, and DuBose does not appear to be belligerent or aggressive toward the officer. DuBose turns his ignition key, starting the car, but the vehicle appears to move only after the shot is fired. That's significant, because Tensing told authorities he'd been dragged by the vehicle.

The video shows an exchange between Tensing and DuBose that began as a routine traffic stop and ended with a single gunshot:

Tensing asks for DuBose's driver's license.

DuBose tells him he has a license. "You can run my name," he says.

"Be honest," Tensing says, asking if DuBose's license might be suspended.

Tensing asks DuBose where he lives.

"Right around the corner," DuBose says.

"Go ahead and take your seatbelt off," Tensing says.

"I didn't even do nothing," Dubose says.

DuBose starts the car and leans toward the passenger seat. Tensing reaches into the car with one hand and points his gun at DuBose with the other.

Without a warning, Tensing fires a single shot.

DuBose slumps into the passenger seat. Tensing falls to the ground as the car rolls away.

The car travels a short distance, stopping at the corner.

Tensing runs after the car.

He looks inside, where DuBose is dead.

Ray Tensing turned himself into authorities July 29 after being indicted for murder in the death of Samuel DuBose.

Then Tensing says, "I think I'm OK. I'm OK, he was dragging me. I thought I was going to get run over."

The video does not indicate Tensing was dragged. The officer's attorney, Stuart Mathews, however, told The Enquirer Tuesday night that Tensing was in fear for his life and fell down as the car was moving.

Police officers from UC and Cincinnati police arrived at the scene. Authorities say their body cameras did not capture images of the shooting.
