Springdale robbery manhunt called off, suspect still at-large

Police have called off the search for a man in the area of Winton Woods Tuesday night after a bank robbery in Springdale, according to dispatchers.

The suspect was not located, police said, but the vehicle was recovered.

Officers responded to the Fifth Third Bank on West Kemper Road just before 5 p.m. after they received reports that a man robbed the bank with a gun.

A traffic pursuit followed, dispatchers said. After officers deployed stop sticks, the suspect jumped out of the car and ran.

Police gave chase, but lost sight of the suspect.

For several hours after the initial report of the robbery, police are still searching the area of Greenhills and Winton Woods for the suspect.

Local residents reported that police asked them to stay in their homes while the search was underway.
