Police: Man shot girlfriend, reported death 2 days later

Cincinnati police have arrested and charged a 51-year-old Avondale man with shooting and killing his girlfriend, according to Hamilton County court records.

On May 28, Thomas Walker and his girlfriend, 41-year-old Necole Jones, got into a fight that led to the couple shooting at each other, police said in court records.

Walker was shot in the left leg, and Jones died after being shot in the head, police said.

Walker didn't report Jones' shooting death or his own gunshot wound until the evening of May 30, according to the criminal complaint filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court.

According to a Saturday news release, Walker reported the shootings in-person at Cincinnati Police's District 1 station in West End. His was subsequently interviewed three times by police before his arrest Saturday.

Walker was charged with the murder of Jones. An arraignment has not been scheduled.
