Report: Orioles like Reds' Jay Bruce
The Baltimore Orioles like Reds outfielder Jay Bruce in addition to a couple of other players, FOXSports.com senior baseball writer and MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal reports via Twitter, though Rosenthal adds that Baltimore might not have the prospects to land Bruce in a deal with Cincinnati.
Bruce hit .226 with 26 homers and 87 RBIs in 2015. In September, he said he was "embarrassed" by the season he had.
In his eight-season Major League Baseball career - all with the Reds - the two-time All-Star has a .248 batting average with 208 homers and 638 RBIs.
Meanwhile, Rosenthal is in Montgomery on Thursday to address Green Diamond Gallery's Wright Society members and their guests.
Green Diamond Gallery, which featured Paul Daugherty and C. Trent Rosecrans among others in December as part of a baseball writers' panel discussion, is selling bow ties to members and their guests at the door for Rosenthal's appearance, with proceeds going to the Character & Courage Foundation. The BowTie Cause that Rosenthal supports helps raise awareness for worthy causes.
The foundation - Green Diamond Gallery's charitable effort, which endeavors to enrich, through baseball, the lives of youth who are physically handicapped, diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, or living in impoverished areas - presented a $10,000 grant to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana in December.
