Officers pursued and arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary at a home in Blue Ash on Tuesday night.

The burglary was reported around 8:30 p.m. at a home in the 5000 block of Cook Avenue. An officer saw two suspects running away from the scene and pursued them, according to the Blue Ash Police Department.

Montgomery Police, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and a Madeira Police K-9 assisted Blue Ash officers in a short foot chase of the suspects, identified as William Lawrence and Samuel Sims.

Lawrence was arrested and property from the burglary was recovered as officers used a K-9 to track the other suspect.

The K-9 tracked the Sims to the backyard of a home in the 11000 block of Centennial Avenue, where he confronted officers, according to court documents.

Police said Sims kicked an officer in the face and kicked the K-9 unit "several times." He also possessed a small amount of marijuana, according to court documents.

Lawrence is accused of burglary and obstructing official business. Sims is accused of burglary, felony obstructing official business, felonious assault on a police officer, and assault on a police K-9.

The men are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
