Eastbound I-275 near Colerain Ave. opens after crash

Update, 7:35 a.m.: One lane of traffic on eastbound Interstate 275 was opened after 7:30 a.m. following a crash that occurred about 6:50 a.m. The roadway had been closed for about 40 minutes.

At least one car was involved in the crash. The driver of the car, whose vehicle rolled over, was taken from the crash to an area hospital with multiple injuries, according to emergency communications.

Officials could not confirm how many cars were involved.

Previous report: At least one motorist was taken to an area hospital after a crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 275 near Blue Rock Road and Colerain Avenue Wednesday morning.

One car was flipped in the crash on eastbound I-275, which occurred about 6:50 a.m. Police closed the highway after arriving to the location of the crash. The number of cars involved in the crash wasn't immediately known.

An unidentified male crash victim was hospitalized with what emergency officials on the scene called "an obvious broken femur and chest trauma," according to emergency communications.

A medical helicopter was called to transport the man, aged in his twenties, but the flight was later grounded.

An estimated time of reopening for the roadway wasn't immediately known.
