Man's jaw, chin broken in brass knuckle attack

A man has a broken jaw and a broken chin after he was punched in the face by a man with brass knuckles, police said.

Kris Patrick, 33, was arrested Monday afternoon, more than a month after police said he assaulted Eric Schwegler with brass knuckles in Westwood.

Patrick punched Schwegler in the face after a verbal argument in an apartment complex in the 3100 block of Mozart Avenue on June 22, according to court documents.

Schwegler was knocked unconscious during the attack and sustained a broken jaw and chin, police said.

A metal plate was screwed into Schwegler's chin and wires were used to hold his mouth closed as he healed, police said.

Patrick is accused of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
