Police say Darren Goodnight, 21, is in police custody after he was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Louisville Wednesday.

Cincinnati police and the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team assisted the U.S. Marshals Service for the Western District of Kentucky to make Wednesday's arrest.

Goodnight was arrested in the 1300 block of S. 3rd Street in downtown Louisville, according to Louisville officials.

Police were seeking Goodnight after the shooting death of 31-year-old Adam Stephens on Friday, Sept. 18.
