Thunderstorms move in on Memorial Day

The National Weather Service predicts a chance of hazardous weather conditions starting Memorial Day and continuing through the week for parts of Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Indiana.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain Monday with wind gusts nearing 31 mph, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Predictions place rainfall amounts at less than a tenth of an inch, but expect more if thunderstorms move into the area.

Monday will be cloudy with a high near 82 degrees, but temperatures will drop to 66 degrees at night as the chance of rain falls to 20 percent.

The chance of thunderstorms increases Tuesday and Wednesday. Widespread severe weather is not expected but a few strong storms may pop up, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday temperatures are expected to near 81 degrees with a low of 67 degrees. The chance of rain is at 60 percent and thunderstorms are likely.

The forecast predicts Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with a high near 80 degrees and a low at 64 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely with a 50 percent chance of rain.

The chance of rain and thunderstorms continue through the week.
