Competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut will return to Oktoberfest Zinzinnati Sunday, Sept. 20 to compete in the sixth annual Glier’s World Brat-Eating Championship.

Chestnut will attempt to break the world record he set in 2013 by eating 70 brats in 10 minutes, according to a press release.

Other contestants competing for the title of World Bratwurst-Eating Champion include No. 21-ranked Jeff “The Beast Man” Butler, of Ohio; No. 23-ranked Danielle Giolia, of New York; No. 27-ranked “Wild” Bill Myers, of Pennsylvania; and No. 33-ranked Matthew Raible, of Illinois.

More than 80,000 bratwursts are consumed at Oktoberfest Zinzinnati each year, according to the press release. If placed end-to-end, they would equal the length of 29 Empire State Buildings.

The event will be held at 5 p.m. at the Christian Moerlein Glockenspiel and Beer Garden on the corner of Fifth and Broadway streets.
