WEST CHESTER TWP. - Police here have arrested Michele Schuster, 23, in connection with the death of a utility worker in an April crash.

Schuster is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle while impaired by West Chester Police.

Amber Marie Rooks, 24, of Norwood was struck by the car Schuster was driving on Cox Road on April 22.

Rooks later died of her injuries.

Four other workers were injured by Schuster's car as it went left of center near the Liberty Way intersection.

A memorial erected by fellow utility workers stood for weeks after the traffic death April 22 of Amber Marie Rooks, 24, next to Cox Road in Butler County.

Schuster was also charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular assault and a marked lanes misdemeanor.

Previously, The Enquirer reported that search warrants for Schuster's car were prompted by on-the-scene police reports that she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Warrant requests also made reference to "beer cans or liquor containers, syringe or pill bottles or other drug paraphernalia indicating the use of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash."

West Chester Police said she was arrested today without incident and was turned over to Butler County Area Court 3 for arraignment.
