A 34-year-old man died after being shot in Mount Auburn Wednesday night, police said.

Donielle Kelly was found dead from injuries related to multiple gunshot wounds after Cincinnati police arrived to the 100 block of Gage Street following a 911 call reporting the shooting just before 11 p.m., authorities stated in a Thursday news release.

This shooting took place just blocks away from where Samuel DuBose was killed by then-University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing on July 19, but authorities say Wednesday night's shooting is not connected.

"This has no relation to any of the protests that took place in the proximity of this neighborhood tonight,"  said Sgt. Mike Miller of Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit. "This is an isolated incident apart from any of that organized activity."

One officer stood guard in front of the house with a rifle for more than 20 minutes while the investigation took place.

Miller said no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The incident is being investigated, the release stated.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying possible suspects. Anyone with information related to Kelly's shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
